SUN CARE

Please wear sunscreen every day. Every. Single. Day.

It doesn’t matter if it’s winter, raining, cloudy, or even if you leave the house; you are going to be exposed to UV rays. Sunscreen will help prevent sun damage, skin cancer, and general signs of aging. It only takes a second to apply!

This being said, you know your skin better than anyone else. Listen to what your body wants and needs in terms of amount and ingredients.

For the Face

Black Girl Sunscreen

SPF 30 | $16

This sunscreen is ultra sheer and won’t give you any white cast. This is a great sunscreen for all skin tones and works for the face and body. One-stop-shop.

CeraVe Hydrating Sunscreen

SPF 30 | $15

This one is tinted, so it is not as universal. It is a nice drugstore option that applies nicely.

Coola Sun Silk Drops

SPF 30 | $46

This one is on the pricier side, but this is a good one to have in your arsenal for when you’re wearing makeup over top. This acts as a nice primer to create a smooth canvas.

Coola Water Mist

SPF 18 | $36

I like to use this one throughout the day to top off my sunscreen. It isn’t my favorite since it’s a glass bottle and as leaked on me before. This is good for a beach day or when you’re at home. I wouldn’t suggest putting this in your favorite bag.

Dr. Jart+ Every Sun Day

SPF 50 | $39

If you’re looking for a little bit more coverage this is a good one to try. It is a bit pricey, but it goes on smoothly.

Fenty Skin Invisible Moisturizer

SPF 30 | $35 (refills are $30)

This has been my go-to since it launched. I love the packaging; I can through this in my bag and not worry about it. This works on all skin tones without creating a white cast. It also smells delicious!

Glossier Invisible Shield

SPF 35 | $25

This is another favorite product. The dispenser is nice and gives you a small amount that you can build up. It will leave your skin dewy without the oiliness. Some people have experienced breakouts when using this product, so check the ingredient list!

La Roche-Posay Double Repair Face Moisturizer + Sunscreen

SPF 30 | $20

This is a great daily face sunscreen to kick off your day. It’s oil-free, so it works with most skin types

Supergoop! Sheerscreen

SPF 30 | $38

This has been a hit with a lot of beauty lovers. It melts into the skin and also protects from blue light. This can leave a slight white/blue cast on darker skin tones.

Supergoop! Glow Oil

SPF 50 | $15 (mini)

I’ll be honest... I’m basing this one off of reviews from Sephora. This looks like a perfect ‘throw in your bag’ kind of sunscreen. The packaging looks better than their SPF Mist and will leave you with a nice glow. I would tread lightly if you have oily skin.

Tatcha Pore Perfecting Sunscreen

SPF 35 | $65

What would this list be without one (too) expensive product? We all know Tatcha as a leader in the skincare industry and this product meets expectations. It is perfect for under your makeup, but I would add a moisturizer if your skin is on the drier side.

For the Body

Coola Sunscreen Spray

SPF 50 | $25

The packaging has a great nozzle and is fragrance-free! Perfect for your everyday wear.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch

SPF 100 | $15

This is perfect when you’re running a bit behind and don’t have time for a product to dry down. It’s lightweight and will keep you protected.

Shiseido Sun Protector Lotion

SPF 50 | $49

This is a fan favorite. The formula is great and it will last you the whole summer. There is also a mini size available if you want to test it out.

Sun Bum Lotion

SPF 30 | 16

This is a great lotion option as well. It has added vitamin E to help out your skin. If you prefer a Continuous Spray they have one, but you are going to want to reapply about every 1.5-2 hours as it doesn’t last as long on the skin.

Supergoop! Everyday Lotion

SPF 50 | $58 (value size)

I love this product and vouch for the value size. It is something I like to leave by my door so that I never forget to apply it and this sucker will last you at least 2 seasons.

Supergoop! Antioxidant Mist

SPF 50 | $21

This is a great continuous spray with added Vitamin C. It doesn’t make your skin feel greasy and is good to throw in your bag for a beach day.

Extras

Jack Black Lip Balm

SPF 25 | $8

If your lips have been extra dry I would suggest using this one. It will restore your cracked lips while protecting them from the sun with a thicker formula. It also comes in 5 different scents!

Sun Bum Lip Balm

SPF 30 | $4

This is great for leaving in your purse throughout the summer as a swipe on formula. It has aloe and vitamin E to really add in some hydration. This one comes in 7 scents!

Sun Bum Scalp Spray

SPF 30 | $15

This is a less expensive scalp spray that is pretty good. It is going to make your hair slightly more oily than a powder, but it gets the job done!

Supergoop! Lipscreen

SPF 40 | $22

This product has a dough foot applicator if that is more your style. It has a nice formula and a higher SPF than most other lip sunscreens.

Supergoop! Scalp Powder

SPF 45 | $34

As someone with darker hair, this is a must on beach days. I have used regular spray sunscreen on my scalp, but this one feels nicer and makes my hair less greasy.
